The Mechanical Engineering Student Association of Diponegoro University held a Welding Seminar in collaboration with PT Intan Pertiwi Industri.
This activity was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, located in Room B.204, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Diponegoro University, and was attended by almost 100 participants from among students.
This seminar is a form of synergy between the world of education and industry in broadening students' insight into welding technology, especially in the use of electrode welding electrodes that are appropriate to the needs of applications in the field.
Through this activity, students not only get theoretical material, but also get a direct picture of the important role of electrode quality in producing strong, stable, and standard-compliant welded joints.
In the seminar, the material was delivered by Syuhada Aleen, as Kobelco Business Development Indonesia Area. The discussion focused on an introduction to the world of welding, selecting the right electrode, and the importance of understanding the characteristics of welding electrode for various industrial needs.
The material was delivered interactively, allowing participants to discuss and ask questions directly about products, applications, and challenges in the welding process.
After the seminar session was over, the activity continued with testing of electrode welding electrode from PT Intan Pertiwi Industriby students in the welding room. In this session, participants had the opportunity to see and try out the performance of electrode welding electrode in the welding process.
This practical experience is an added value for students because they can understand the relationship between theory, electrode selection, welding techniques, and the final results of the welded joint.
Through this collaboration, PT Intan Pertiwi Industri also supports the development of student competencies, especially in the fields of mechanical engineering and welding.
Activities like this are expected to bridge academic knowledge and industrial needs, so that students have broader insights and are better prepared to face the world of work.
