PT Intan Pertiwi Industri Holds Welding Seminar and Workshop at Politeknik Negeri Jakarta

PT Intan Pertiwi Industri once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the improvement of human resources quality in the engineering field through a welding seminar and workshop with the theme “KOBELCO Welding Electrode Manufacturing in Indonesia”.

This activity was held in collaboration with the KSM Mechanical Engineering of the Jakarta State Polytechnic as part of an effort to strengthen the relationship between the industrial world and vocational education.

The event, which took place at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Politeknik Negeri Jakarta, received a very good response from the students.

The enthusiasm of the participants shows that the welding field is still one of the competencies that is in demand, especially because it has an important role in various industrial sectors from manufacturing, fabrication, construction, to shipping.

This activity attracted approximately 130 participants in the seminar session and 20 in the practical workshop session. The high turnout reflects the students' keen interest in broadening their knowledge of welding, including technology, products, and field applications.

For vocational students, activities like this are very important because they not only introduce theory but also provide a more realistic picture of industry needs.

Through this seminar and workshop, participants can understand that welding competence is not only related to metal joining techniques, but also concerns quality, work standards, efficiency, and readiness to face the challenges of the world of work.

KOBELCO Welding Electrode and Taseto NDT Product Seminar

In the seminar session, participants received exposure to material relevant to developments in the welding industry.

The material presented includes the journey and development of KOBELCO, the role of PT Intan Pertiwi Industri in supporting product distribution and education in Indonesia, an introduction to various KOBELCO welding electrode products and their applications, and a basic understanding of the Taseto Non-Destructive Test (NDT) method as a testing technique without damaging the material.

The material is delivered interactively so that participants not only receive theoretical explanations, but also gain applied insights that are close to actual industrial conditions.

This approach helps students understand the importance of welding material selection, proper product use, and the need for inspection to maintain the quality of work.

Welding Workshops Provide Hands-On Practical Experience

As a complement to the seminar session, this activity also presents a welding workshop for selected participants.

In the practical session, students get the opportunity to try out the welding process directly using the available equipment, learn work techniques that comply with industry standards, and learn about the use of KOBELCO welding electrodes in practice.

Direct practical experience is an important part of the learning process for vocational students.

Through this workshop, participants not only understand the theory presented previously, but also see how work procedures, accuracy, and mastery of techniques greatly influence the quality of welding results.

Visit to the Heavy Equipment Workshop of Politeknik Negeri Jakarta

In order to strengthen good relations between the campus and the industrial world, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Politeknik Negeri Jakarta also invited a team from KOBELCO Japan and PT Intan Pertiwi Industri to review the workshop facilities owned by the department.

One of the areas of focus during the visit was the heavy equipment workshop, which is one of the leading practice facilities at PNJ.

Through this visit, guests can see firsthand the learning facilities used by students to develop technical competencies.

The event also opened up a positive discussion space regarding opportunities for further collaboration between educational institutions and industry, particularly in supporting practice-based learning and preparing graduates to enter the workforce.

Synergy between Industry and Vocational Education to Produce Work-Ready Human Resources

The collaboration between PT Intan Pertiwi Industri and Politeknik Negeri Jakarta is a strategic step in supporting the creation of competent human resources who are ready to compete in the industrial world.

Campuses play a vital role in building a foundation of knowledge and basic skills, while industry provides real-world insights into market needs, work standards, and the ever-changing pace of technological development.

Through welding seminars and workshops like this, students get the opportunity to understand the industrial world more closely.

They not only gain classroom knowledge, but also direct exposure to the practices, products, and standards used in a professional work environment.

Welding Seminars and Workshops at PNJ Are a Positive Step for Students

The holding of a seminar and workshop with the theme KOBELCO Welding Electrode Manufacturing in Indonesia at the Politeknik Negeri Jakarta is expected to broaden students' insights regarding welding technology and open broader views on career opportunities in the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

This activity also serves as evidence that ongoing collaboration between industry and vocational education can create a learning ecosystem that is more relevant to the needs of the field.

With this kind of support, students are expected to be increasingly prepared to become skilled, adaptive workers who are able to meet future industrial challenges.

Closing

PT Intan Pertiwi Industri remains committed to supporting activities that connect the world of education with real industrial needs.

Through this welding seminar and workshop at PNJ, it is hoped that more young talents will have stronger technical competence, industry insight, and work readiness.

Synergy between universities and industry is not only a current necessity, but also a long-term investment in developing superior human resources for the advancement of the manufacturing and engineering sectors in Indonesia.
