DEPOK, February 26, 2026 — PT Intan Pertiwi Industri (INTIWI) in collaboration with the Naval Engineering Department of the National Development University (UPN) Veteran Jakarta held a welding seminar and workshop on Thursday (2/26/2026).
This activity took place at the Faculty of Engineering, UPN Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ), Jl. Limo Raya, Limo, Limo District, Depok City, West Java 16514.
Through this agenda, INTIWI presents a series of activities that combine material presentations and practical sessions, to enrich the insight of Naval Architecture students regarding the needs of the maritime industry.
The theme raised focuses on the context of welding in the shipyard environment, particularly related to ship repair and ship building, as well as strengthening understanding of welding wire and its application in the field.

In the seminar session, the committee presented Mr. Andi from PT Samudra Marine Indonesia as a speaker. Mr. Andi is known to have expertise in the field of ship repairand ship building, as well as being an alumnus of UPN Veteran Jakarta.
Mr. Andi's presence was one of the highlights of the event because he provided a relevant industrial perspective for Naval Architecture students, especially regarding the general overview of ship repair work and the construction of new ships in a shipyard environment.
Discuss the Role of Welding Wire in Joint Quality
In addition to discussions about shipping, this seminar also presents speakers who are experts in the field of welding electrode.
Through this session, participants gain an understanding of the importance of selecting and using appropriate welding wire to support the quality of the joint, especially in the context of industrial needs and welding practices.
This session emphasizes that the quality of welding results is not only influenced by the process, but also by the selection of the right consumables and their correct application.
Welding Demo Received Enthusiasm from Students

Following the presentation, the series of activities continued with a welding demonstration/workshop. This workshop was enthusiastically attended by Naval Architecture students from UPN Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ).
Through the demonstration format, participants can witness live welding practices as a complement to the seminar material.
The organizers believe that the combination of seminars and workshops is a more practical learning approach, as participants not only gain insight through presentations but also see their application in practical sessions.
