LB-52 welding electrode Kobe Steel uses a low hydrogen iron powder type coating, which helps reduce the risk of hydrogen cracking and is suitable for welding thick metals.
AWS A5.1 E7016, EN ISO 2560-A-E 42 3 B, JIS Z3211 E4916
LB-52 welding electrode is a low hydrogen coated electrode type welding wire classified as AWS A5.1 E7016.
This electrode is designed for welding carbon steel and medium-tensile steel, especially in structures that require high strength and crack resistance.
With stable performance in all positions, LB-52 welding electrode produces smooth weld beads, good penetration, and easy-to-clean slag.
Suitable for structural applications such as bridges, pressure tanks, pipes, and heavy steel construction, LB-52 welding wire can also be used with both AC and DC+ currents, making it an ideal choice for welding needs in the field or in the fabrication shop.
The following are the advantages of the LB-52 electrode, namely:
Protected from hydrogen cracking
Low-hydrogen flux helps prevent hydrogen cracking. Suitable for “locked” joints and medium-strength steels.
Smooth arc, minimal spatter
The arc feels “calm,” the bead is neat, and burrs are significantly reduced. The end result is cleaner without drama.
Slag comes off easily
After cooling for a while, the slag peels off neatly. Multi-pass work remains fast and consistent.
Flexible engine: AC or DC+ (DCEP)
Whether you use an old-school transformer or a modern inverter—it's still stable. Practical for workshop work and field projects.
All-position including vertical-up
Difficult position? The LB-52 is still compliant. Suitable for structures that cannot be rotated.
Proven joint quality
Good fusion, low porosity, and good impact toughness. Suitable for standard work—from general fabrication to construction.
Easy restart
Cleaner restarts, minimizing arc strikes and minor defects at the connection points.
